BackSetting Up Your Autoresponder
to develop your own follow up messages and set you own time
intervals for your messages to be sent out.
Get yourself a piece of paper and a pencil. Now, write down your product or service's greatest benefit and potential use. This will be your reference when you start working on your follow-up messages.
If you do not know where to start, start with your existing sales letter as your first message. Modify it if you need to. Consider making short because you do not want to overwhelm your prospects with information overload.
If you do, they may not want to read your entire message and may just tune out and just erase it!
Your second message should be sent the day after your initial contact. Provide a little more information, details, and most importantly more benefits.
Your next few follow up messages should act as a powerful reminder to the prospect. These messages should be sent one or two days apart. If you do not sell your product or service in these messages, there is a good chance that you never will! Keep mentioning more benefits, special offers, and free trials - just get them to buy at all costs!
Your final follow up message (seventh and further contacts) should be sent with more than one or two days in between them. Anything under 7 days could annoy your potential customers and thus they may decide to opt-out of your mailing list. In these
messages you should once again briefly describe your product or service again (as your prospects might have forgot, it's been a long time after all)!
Be sure to stress your most important benefits and potential uses. The chances that you are going to close the sale at this point start to get slimmer. The next best approach would be to ask your prospects why they haven't bought from you yet or whether they have any questions.
Remember, once you get it going - stick with it and always keep testing to see if you can make it even better!
